General Lighting & Luminaire Goniophotometers

These are Type C/gamma goniophotometers with wide-ranging applications including luminaires, floodlights, streetlights, LED clusters, emergency lighting, flat panel displays and others. These goniophotometers typically have an angular accuracy of better than 0.1°, which is perfect for LED and luminaire goniophotometry. The control software that comes with each system has advanced functions that make testing easy – even for inexperienced users. Additionally, the report generator and other software utilities that are also supplied make these systems powerful and advanced research and development tools.

LG-2 Mirror Goniophotometers

The LG-2 series of mirror goniophotometers are high-end goniophotometers for all general lighting applications

While being capable of measuring large and heavy luminaires, it is also sensitive enough to measure small emergency lighting luminaires and LED downlights. The software contains many useful features including conversion from C/gamma geometry to A/alpha geometry for photometry of signals and B/beta geometry for photometry of floodlights. These functions make it a powerful test and measurement tool ideal for public testing laboratories and R&D institutes.

LG-1 Rotating Luminaire Goniophotometers

PSI’s LG-1 series of rotating luminaire goniophotometers are compact goniophotometers for lamps, luminaires, LEDs and LED clusters.

They are suitable for manufacturers or institutions that do not have the space, budget or requirement for a large, swinging mirror-type goniophotometer. When measuring lamps who’s luminous flux output changes with burning attitude, such as HID lamps and fluorescent tubes, an auxiliary photocell can be provided to correct for the different burning positions. The LG-1 series have a variety of designs to cater for different luminaire size and shape specifications. They are very user friendly and easy to use.

LG-lite Spectrometer-based Goniophotometers

PSI’s LG-0 series of budget rotating luminaire goniophotometers are compact goniophotometers for lamps, luminaires, LEDs and LED clusters.

They are suitable for manufacturers with smaller budget requirements. The LG-0 series come with a power analyser and has only 2 models. The detector is a spectrometer, therefore has slower measurement than photometer-based systems due to the integration time and linearity limitations. The control software provides the distribution of luminous intensity in IES and LDT formats. The report software provides:

    • The polar curve
    • The colorimetric parameters: x, y, u’, v’, CRI, CCT, TM30
    • The UGR
    • And more….

GC-1.0 GonioCase

PSI’s GonioCase is a portable and easy-to-use goniophotometer for general purpose measurements of lamps and small luminaires

The GonioCase is only 6 kg.  It can be carried from place to place and set up for measurements in less than a minute.  It is designed for use in a normal office, without the need for a dedicated dark room, and has a built-in spectroradiometer and power meter, so it can measure the colour, intensity distribution and energy efficiency of lamps and small luminaires quickly and effectively.
